Basionym

カラカンサ Caulacanthus compressus Harvey 1860: 331; 岡村 1936: 731; Dawson 1959: 19. Pl. 8, Fig. C; Masuda et al. 1995: 192. Fig. 5.

Type locality: 沖縄県

Lectotype specimen: TCD (Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland)

分類に関するメモ：Masuda et al. (1995) はカラカンサ（Caulacanthus compressus）をハナフノリ（Gloiopeltis complanata）の異名同種（シノニム）としました。Hanyuda et al. (2020)は，カラカンサ（Caulacanthus compressus）を再評価し，イソダンツウ属（Caulacanthus）からフノリ属（Gloiopeltis）に移し，和名を「リュウキュウフノリ」としました。
