分類に関するメモ：マキイトグサは，イトグサ属（Polysiphonia）の1種として記載された後，Enelittosiphonia属に移されました。Díaz-Tapia et al. (2017) は，Vertebrata属を再評価し，Enelittosiphonia属をVertebrata属に含め，マキイトグサをEnelittosiphonia属からVertebrata属に移しました。
