分類に関するメモ：Itono (1972) は，現在Ceramium macilentumの異名同種（シノニム）とされているC. mazatlanenseを鹿児島県馬毛島から報告しました。Itono (1977) は，馬毛島産C. mazatlanense (= C. macilentum）について，同定が不確実としました。Ceramium mazatlanense (= C. macilentum）は，その後Cordero (1975) が和歌山県田辺湾で報告しました。以後，日本での報告がありませんでしたが，Titlyanov et al. (2016, 2019, 2024) は与那国島，沖縄本島，熊本県天草でC. macilentumを報告しました。Itono (1972)が報告したC. mazatlanenseとTitlyanov et al. (2016, 2019) が報告したC. macilentumが同じものかどうか検討が必要ですが，暫定的にC. macilentumとして掲載しました。
