分類に関するメモ：タイワンイトグサは，イトグサ属（Polysiphonia）の1種として記載されました。Kim & Boo (1999)は，タイワンイトグサをイトグサ属からNeosiphonia属に移しました。Díaz-Tapia et al. (2017)は，タイワンイトグサをNeosiphonia属からMelanothamnus属に移しました。
