| 分類に関するメモ：Entwisle et al. (2016)は，Nothocladus属を設立し，カワモズク属（Batrachospermum）から区別しました。Rossignolo & Necchi (2016) は，カワモズク属の節（section）として用いられていたSetacea節を属の階級に上げ，イシカワモズク（N. ater (現 T. atra)）と，N. puiggarianus (現 T. puiggariana) をNothocladus属からSetacea属に移しました。Setacea属の学名は，"setaceus（剛毛状の，ブラシ状の）"に基づいたものですが，"setaceus"は，形態学で用いられているラテン語のため，国際藻類・菌類・植物命名規約（ICN）深圳規約（2018）の第20.2条において非正式名（invalid name）となりました。Rossignolo et al. (2017) は，非正式名となったSetacea属について，新名Atrophycus属を発表しました。Wynne (2019) は，カワモズク属の異名（シノニム）とされていたTorularia属を再評価し，Atrophycus属に所属していた種をTorularia属に移しました。
Torularia属の和名は，Torularia属のタイプ種であるイシカワモズク（T. atra）に基づき，「イシカワモズク属」としました。日本産種として知られているのはイシカワモズクのみなので，適当と考えられますが，正式に提唱，出版されたものではなく，本リストにおける暫定的な名称です。 |
