分類に関するメモ：アワビモは，Ulvella lensに充てられ，日本ではU. lensと類似種のPringsheimiella scutata (現U. scutata)のみ知られていましたが，Nielsen et al. (2013)は，日本から新種3種を含む9種のUlvella属を報告した他，未記載・未報告種を3種（U. sp. A, U. sp. B, U. sp. C）報告しています。報告した12種の中にU. lensはないことから，「アワビモ」と呼ばれている種は，U. lensではない可能性や複数種を混同している可能性があると考えられます。
