押し葉標本（採集地：新潟県 佐渡郡 相川町 千畳敷（現 佐渡市 相川 千畳敷）；採集日：2003年7月26日；採集者：鈴木雅大）

Zuccarello et al. (2002) によるとSpyridia filamentosaは幾つかの隠蔽種を含んでおり，太平洋で報告されている"S. filamentosa"は，大西洋産のS. filamentosaとは別種と考えられます。Conklin & Sherwood (2012) による遺伝子解析によると，日本のウブゲグサは2, 3種を包含していることが示唆されています。
