淡路島の楠本川で実施された公開臨海実習において採集したヨシノボリ属の1種です。ほほにえんじ色の小点があることと，エラ蓋の上の方にえんじ色の縞があること，胸鰭の基部に1本の帯があること，体に暗色のスジがあることからクロヨシノボリと同定しましたが，正確には胸鰭の軟条が19本以上あることなどを確認する必要があるそうです。
