| 分類に関するメモ：フサシオグサはCladophora fascicularisと呼ばれてきました。Hoek (1982) は，C. fascicularisをC. vagabundaの異名同種（シノニム）としました。Hoek & Chihara (2000) は，マキシオグサ（C. uncinella）とC. zostericolaをC. vagabundaの異名同種（シノニム）としました。 |

| 潮間帯下部から低潮線付近の岩上に生育します。体は直立または片側に曲がり，高さ20 cmに達します。密に分枝し，房状になります。手触りはスポンジ状で，色は黄緑色から淡緑色です。 |

| 最末小枝が鉤状に曲がり，束状になります。細胞は直径197-258 μm。葉緑体の形，数，ピレノイドは確認していません。 |

| 付着部は仮根糸から成ります。基部近くの細胞や仮根糸に特別な構造や模様はありません。主枝は偽叉状に分枝し，枝の先端は束状になります。 |
