スリコギヅタ（Caulerpa chemnitzia var. laetevirens），タカツキヅタ（C. chemnitzia var. peltata）と同様，学名や表記が良く変わる種類です。Belton et al. (2014) とFernández-García et al. (2016)は，センナリヅタ（C. racemosa f. macrophysa又はC. macrophysa）をC. racemosaと同種（シノニム）としましたが，Delnatte & Wynne (2016)とNorris et al. (2017) は，センナリヅタをC. racemosaの変種としました。
