分類に関するメモ：Belton et al. (2014) は，Caulerpa racemosa var. macrophysaとC. racemosaとの区別は不明瞭と述べ，Fernández-García et al. (2016)は，C. racemosa var. macrophysaをC. racemosaの異名同種（シノニム）としました。Norris et al. (2017) は，C. racemosa var. macrophysaをC. racemosaがC. racemosaの変種かどうかを判断するには，C. macrophysa (= C. racemosa var. macrophysa)のタイプの調査が必要と述べています。

センナリヅタ（C. racemosa f. macrophysa又はC. macrophysa）は，スリコギヅタ（Caulerpa chemnitzia var. laetevirens），タカツキヅタ（C. chemnitzia var. peltata）と同様，学名や表記が良く変わる種類です。Belton et al. (2014) とFernández-García et al. (2016)は，センナリヅタをC. racemosaと同種（シノニム）としましたが，Norris et al. (2017) は，センナリヅタをC. racemosaの変種としました。
